Your prayer makes a difference. Thank you for your faithfulness in prayer. The Magdalene Project was founded on prayer and remains dependent on prayer.
Celebrate with us God’s goodness and faithfulness to us in this 20th year from Magdalene’s beginnings to continuing to meet present day needs This summer has been distinctive for The Magdalene Project.
Earlier in the summer we left the NHS’s IAPT system which lets us keep our professional independence in identity and service provision, though still having a waiting list.
Join us in giving thanks to God for the opening in July of The Magdalene Project’s new premises in Nelson, made possible by a very generous donation. It has been a much-wanted and prayed-for vision for Magdalene to have our own premises in Nelson.
Also this summer in the Queen’s Birthday Honours, The Magdalene Project has been given The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. It is a prestigious award and the equivalent of an MBE and the highest award a voluntary organisation can be given. It is given in recognition of the hard work, commitment and dedication of everyone involved in meeting specific needs in its local community.
For The Magdalene Project, this includes the founders, Irene Alderson and Julie from Victim Support, Magdalene’s supporters, trustees, director and staff, counsellors, welcomers, financial givers and befrienders. But none of this would have been possible without you, intercessors for The Magdalene Project, because of Magdalene’s dependence on God to lead, direct and envision the work.
We continue to meet monthly to pray together and have experienced some special times together recently, and there is also another staff prayer time around the first Wednesday monthly, that allows a rhythm of fortnightly prayer for the needs and concerns of the Project. Let us know if you are joining us in prayer from where you are. Specific subjects for prayer can be found on our monthly Prayer Diary. God knows each of us so well to know even the numbers of hairs on our head and his heart is to release healing and wholeness.
Future dates 9.30-10.30am third Thursday monthly: 15th August -19th September -17th October. Do join us if you can.
As we give thanks to God for you and your worshipping communities and for your faithfulness in prayer, we also wish you and your loved ones a refreshing summer in body, mind and spirit. Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, for his love endures forever (Ps136).
